Background: Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world, fourth in Asia & 2nd Muslim nation. Pakistan's population is growing by around two per cent a year but the economy has failed to keep pace with the population growth. Even though family planning programme was started in 1951 but rates of contraceptive use are low particularly in rural Pakistan, which is home to two-thirds of the about 180 million people in the nation. There is a wide range of contraceptives including traditional and modern methods.

Knowledge of street vendors in overcoming challenges associated with the government requirements– A South African case study

This study aims to determine whether micro-enterprises such as street vendors have administrative knowledge to overcome challenges associated with the government requirements. A questionnaire was administered to street vendors around the Johannesburg area to fulfil aims of this study. Descriptive results reveal a significant number of street vendors would abandon their current economic activity for jobs that pay at least US$200 a week; most street vendors have below high school education; and the vast majority of street vendors do not have any business administrative training.

Grain yield and functional properties of red gram applied with seaweed extract powder manufactured from kappaphycus alvarezii

The effect of seaweed extract powder (Aquasap powder) on germination and field trial on red gram was studied. Germination at 0.03% solution was very effective and recommended same concentration for seed treatment of red gram. Seaweed extract powder at 0.2% was applied in filed through foliar spray at the vegetative phase, pre-flowering stage and pod maturity phase of red gram and it found that it enhanced yield of net grain to 35.93%. However, no statistically significant differences in the functional properties of red gram (p≥0.05) between treated plants control plants were observed.

Analysing of employment expectations of social work students in terms of some variables

This study aims to analyze employment expectations of social work students in Turkey. To that general objective, the study tries to examine whether employment expectations of social work students meaningfully differentiate depending on gender, age, university, compatibilitywith the professionin terms ofpersonal characteristics and satisfaction of professional choice. The data was collected through “Employment Expectation Questionnaire” consisting of two sections, developed by researchers to determine the employment expectations of social work students.

Environmental and socio-economic impacts of solid waste dumping and burning on the major motorways in developing countries

Population growth, increase urbanization and more demand for goods and services have caused the persistent rise in the volumes of solid wastes generation in the developing countries. This has posed threats to the environment and socio-economic indices. It is challenging that the management is becoming cumbersome as the dumpsites have been on rapid accumulation along major roadsides in Nigeria. This study assessed the environmental and socio-economic impacts of the roadside solid waste dumping and burning vis-à-vis the perceptions of the various groups of road users.
