    ABSTRACT:

Research shows the use of learners’ L1 enables and channels the acquisition of L2/L3, for which Word Order serves as a canvas for learners to build the linguistic knowledge of any target language upon. This study tests the linguistic intuitions of participants in Basque with transitive constructions which involve full use of word order and morphological patterns necessary to test how participants elaborate their intuitions. Participants are newly-arrived migrants with no previous experience with Basque. Data obtained out of three tests —Comprehension Test, Production Test, and Grammaticality Judgment Test— shows that the layout and distribution of word order(s) and all functional and lexical categories as colored cutouts representing syntactic aspects of L1 and L2/L3 enables learners’ active manipulation of these different elements crosslinguistically, allowing them to build up their own syntactic knowledge comparatively with greater cognitive and syntactic efficiency, scarce errors, and accomplishing significantly higher motivational rates than in traditional settings. As colored cutouts act as visual enhancers of morphosyntactic patterns boosting cognitive efficiency, patterns become easier to internalize and higher motivation levels appear as frustration is reduced. Finally, perceived similarity between Basque as L2 or L3 and the participants’ L1 plays a key role, for which colored patterns have the role of facilitating the participants’ predictions with English as a filter, increasing metalinguistic awareness and competence.

    ABSTRACT:

Fruit classification plays a pivotal role in the fruit industry. Traditional fruit classification methods rely heavily on manual inspection, which significantly hampers the accuracy and efficiency of harvesting. The advent of deep learning algorithms has empowered robots to classify fruits more swiftly, thereby enhancing picking efficiency. In this paper, we propose a deep optimization target detection algorithm based on the YOLOv8s framework to improve the accuracy and efficiency of fruit classification. This algorithm leverages the YOLOv8s model and introduces optimizations to enhance fruit classification effectiveness. Firstly, we focused on making crucial enhancements to the head and neck network's structure. Specifically, we replaced the original C2f module with the Enhanced Local Aggregation Network (ELAN) module, which retains more comprehensive feature information and learns directly from the original feature map. This modification effectively minimizes information loss, bolsters feature representation capabilities, and subsequently elevates detection accuracy. Secondly, we integrated receptive field attention into both the convolutional layer and feature extraction layers of the backbone and neck networks. By augmenting the network's capacity to capture local region and global context information, this design significantly improves the model's efficiency in learning detailed features, thereby accelerating target detection speed and refining detection accuracy. Furthermore, in fruit classification detection tasks, incorporating multiple attention mechanisms before the backbone network and the large object detection head enables dynamic adjustment of feature weights. This approach strengthens key target features, suppresses background noise, and markedly reduces the false detection rate. This effect is particularly pronounced in scenarios with numerous fruit picking targets and complex backgrounds. The proposed model exhibits excellent detection accuracy and is suitable for practical fruit detection applications

    ABSTRACT:

Perception throughout the negotiating process is influenced by culture. One element that is frequently disregarded in international commercial discussions is the complexity of human perception. We are aware that culture shapes perception and that each of us processes and interprets the world through a cultural lens. Perception affects how we communicate, and our views about ourselves and other people mirror these communication experiences. Our cultural experiences in daily encounters are the source of the social component of social cognitions. However, we frequently overlook the impact of culture in our discussions. Once the role that perception may play in the negotiation process is recognized, it becomes easier to comprehend the intricate communication process involved in negotiations, particularly those involving international company. Our views of ourselves and other people are influenced by culture. Different behaviors are interpreted or viewed differently in different cultures. We must examine how perception affects the negotiating process more thoroughly if we hope to comprehend the dynamics of unsuccessful international commercial negotiations. In particular, consider how faulty viewpoints could ultimately prevent consensus.

    ABSTRACT:

Cancer is a multifactorial disease, therefore it is difficult to identify the specific agents responsible for its progression and development, but lifestyle and nutrition have been shown to play an important role. Several natural compounds, especially plant extracts, are demonstrating efficacy in the development of new cancer therapies, among these compounds sulforaphane is the most studied. But one of the main challenges with sulforaphane treatment is its low solubility and oral bioavailability. Several carriers are being studied to overcome these difficulties. Sulforaphane (SFN) is an isothiocyanate derived from cruciferous vegetables, particularly broccoli, known for its powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties. Emerging evidence suggests that sulforaphane acts primarily through the activation of the transcription factor Nrf2, a crucial modulator of the antioxidant response and cellular detoxification. Preclinical and clinical studies have demonstrated that sulforaphane has beneficial effects on several diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative diseases, and metabolic disorders. In this publication, we review the molecular mechanisms of sulforaphane, its therapeutic effects in various clinical settings, and provide an analysis of the most recent case studies that support its use in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.

    ABSTRACT:

On English writing skills amongst Indians, this study first critically reviews the role of major pan-Indian educational boards in imparting writing skills amongst the students and finds that the English writing curricula are not detailed, lack rigour and skills required in the contemporary world, andsubstantially differ across the educational boards. Using this finding, subsequently, we develop an approach and methodology to empirically examine the quality of writing from qualitative book reviews from www.amazon.in and found through t-test that the foreign review writers tend to use significantly higher average number of words and significantly lower average percentage share of ‘outside the content’ than Indian review writers while writing the book reviews. These results broadly revealed that writers from the rest of the world are able to write significantly better than Indian writers. These findings suggest considering reforming measuresin the education system in India to impart writing skills to students of various levels with different intellects.

    ABSTRACT:

There exists an analogical relationship between ecosystems and securities markets. The concept of an ecosystem in the context of capital markets pertains to the intricate relationships and interactions among diverse participants and their surrounding environments. The dynamics of competition and cooperation, transparency, and stability within the securities market are pivotal factors influencing market health and efficiency. This paper undertakes an analysis of the competitive and cooperative dynamics among three securities companies: CITIC Securities, GF Securities, and First Capital Securities, utilizing the three-species Lotka-Volterra model in conjunction with the grey estimation method. The study selects the quarterly operating revenue market share from 2015 to 2023 as the indicator and empirically predicts the evolutionary trends of the market shares of these three companies. The findings reveal that, despite the presence of predatory or competitive relationships in the short term, in the long run, the three companies will coexist in the market, occupying market shares of 13.14%, 6.52%, and 0.67%, respectively. Ultimately, the paper proposes that securities companies should adopt differentiation strategies, deepen supply-side reforms, and augment their service quality. Concurrently, the government should recalibrate policy orientations, strengthen information disclosure obligations, and foster market transparency and stable development.

This study The aim of this article is to determine the health risk factors favoring the contraction of infections and the loss of pregnancies among pregnant women coming for consultations at public or private health centers in the Maman Mboualé district. The survey took place from June 03 to October 17, 2023. We used data from the reports of the various health centers surveyed and a questionnaire survey of 46 women living in Talangaï. Among the 46 cases of pregnant women studied, 39.1% were infected by bacterial infections, followed by viral infections (19.6%), parasitic infections (13.3%) and mycotic infections (6.5%). These results reveal the predominance of bacterial infections in pregnant women compared with non-pregnant women. Several factors favor these infections, exposing these women to more serious health risks that can lead to complications of their health condition or loss of pregnancy. These include factors linked to STIs and the practice of self-medication, then factors linked to the consumption of toxic substances and the exercise and practice of heavy work, then factors linked to the absence of food, body and sanitary hygiene and the insalubrity of concessions, and finally factors linked to stress and allergies among pregnant women living in Talangaï in general and in the Maman Mboualé district in particular.

Ectopia cordis is a rare congenital anomaly where the heart is partially or completely extruded from the thorax. It can occur with other associated defects, especially as part of the Pentalogy of Cantrell (a collection of 5 congenital midline birth anomalies; involving the sternum, heart, pericardium, diaphragm, and abdominal wall). Mostly, the prognosis for infants with ectopia cordis is poordue to the complexity of management, inadequate expertise, and delayed diagnoses. We examine a rare presentation of ectopia cordis in a 34-year-old woman at 36 weeks gestation, complicated by fetal hydrops and severe oligohydramnios. Taking into account the poor prognosis, conservative management was chosen. The patient went into labor at 38 weeks and 4 days, and the outcome was a live male infant who passed away 5 minutes after delivery. We explore the clinical intricacy and significance of timely antenatal screening and multidisciplinary management in high-risk pregnancies.
