The seasonal occurrences of fungi were varied in different months starting from December to March in both the years (rabi 2014-15 and 2015-16). In the infected plant (leaves) the pooled number of seasonal mycoflora was found to be highest in March (22.50 cfug-1 leaf x 10) and the lowest in December (15.00 cfug-1 leaf x 10). In healthy plant the highest occurrence of mycoflora was found in March (16.50 cfug-1 leaf x 10) and the lowest in January (11.50 cfug-1 leaf x 10).

Mangroves are one among the most productive and biologically important ecosystem on this planet, providing vital ecosystem goods and services. Consolidation of data pertaining to the extent and diversity of mangroves is a pre requisite for the selection of any strategy for the conservation of existing or the introduction of newer population. This paper is chiefly a review work on the extent and diversity of mangroves, and is based on published and technical reports.

Siwa Oasis is one of the most promised locations in the Western Desert of Egypt for future agricultural projects as a result of groundwater availability. In addition, it has historical, medical and environmental tourism importance. However, the uncontrolled abstraction and use of groundwater may lead to much environmental deterioration for soil and groundwater aquifer. This study dealt with the water quality of both shallow and deep aquifers in Siwa. The hydrochemical studies indicated the meteoric origin of deep aquifer and its suitability for different uses.

The continued search for the optimization of a versatile and efficient drug carrier is catalyzing multidisciplinary efforts that integrate diagnosis and delivery of therapeutic agents. Nanodiamonds (NDs) are versatile nanocomposite which exhibit excellent mechanical and optical properties, high surface areas, tunable surface structures and low toxicity. These advantageous properties make them well suited to a wide range of potential applications in tribology, drug delivery, bioimaging, tissue engineering, and also as protein mimics and a filler material for nanocomposites.

The taxonomic survey was carried out during June 2015 to March 2016 in Sokanasiniriver, Chittur Taluk, Palakkad district, Kerala. In the present study a total of 91 plant species belonging to 72 genera and 30 families were documented. The Fabaceae family was the largest contribution in 11 species followed by Asteraceae in 9 species and Malvaceae, Acanthaceae and Poaceae are each in 8 species and life forms of herbs are the dominantly present in the study area.

Biochar has recently been used to sequester carbon and remediate soil with both heavy metal and organic pollutants. The characteristics of biochar are influenced mainly by the preparation temperature and biomass sources. Biochars were produced from three different sources (viz., cow dung, poultry manure, and sewage sludge) at two different temperatures (low temperature - +250ºC and high temperature - +450º C).
