La phénoménologie VAWC or the Anti-Violence against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, is a law passed to protect women and children from violence also known as RA 9262, the law is in keeping with the provisions on human rights enshrined in the Philippine Constitution. Violence against women and children (VAWC) appears as one of the country’s pervasive social problems. However, a concerning reality exists where many VAWC cases remain unreported and unprosecuted.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory non-infectious disease of skin which is characterized by well-defined erythematous lesions having plaques with silvery scales. Objective: To determine the risk factors associated with complicated acute appendicitis. Methodology: An observational, cross-sectional, retrospective, and analytical study was conducted on patients with acute appendicitis to identify risk factors, including duration of symptoms, self-medication, and leukocytosis. Other variables considered included gender, age, comorbidities, body mass index (BMI), and types of complications. A probabilistic sample was used to create two comparison groups with and without complications.

Objective: To determine the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio compared to serum bilirubin levels as a predictor of severity in acute appendicitis. Methodology: An observational, cross-sectional, retrospective, and descriptive study was conducted in patients admitted for acute appendicitis to compare the positive predictive value of complicated acute appendicitis using the neutrophil-lymphocyte index, with a cutoff point of 3, compared to total serum bilirubin levels with a cutoff point greater than 1.0 mg/dl.
