Aloe vera: a nature’s prodigy

Aloe vera is a plant that resembles a cactus but is actually a member of the lily family. The Aloe plant comes in more than 300 different types, but Aloe barbadensis has the finest medical qualities. It possesses potent antibacterial, fungicidal, virucidal, and antiseptic effects. It stimulates cell development, calms the nervous system, and detoxifies the body. Others offer nutritional assistance, others boost tissues' capacity for regeneration, while yet others have anti-inflammatory effects.

A study on the anti-obesity efficacy of wheat germ hydrothermal extract

In this study, to confirm the antiobesity efficacy of wheat germ hot-water extract, hot-water extraction with 20%, 50%, and 80% ethanol content was used to analyze antioxidant efficacy, Staphylococcus aureus antibacterial activity, lipase inhibitory activity, and α-glucosidase activity inhibitory activity. As a result of the antioxidant test of wheat germ extracts, the IC50 values of ascorbic acid used as a control was 2.16, whereas the values for 20%, 50%, and 80% ethanol of wheat germ extracts were 3.13, 2.91, and 2.64, respectively.

Effect of stenting techniques on plum (prunus salicina lindl.)

A field experiment on studies on Stenting Techniques in Plum (Prunus salicina Lindl.) was carried out at Horticulture Research Farm, Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda (Punjab) during January to June 2021. The experimental material consisted of plum 15-20 cm long and 1.0 to 1.25 cm thick stem cuttings with 3-5 nodes, taken from the middle basal portion of 9-10 month old dormant shoots. Cuttings were taken from seven year old mother plants of Plum cv. Kala Amritsari root stock by using Satluj purple scion on 23rd January and 3rd February 2021.

To study the response of nitrogen and phosphorus on growth and yield of onion

The field trials of the present experiment were conducted to study the response of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization on the onion growth and yield during the Rabi season 2021-22 at the Vegetable Farm of College of Agriculture of Guru Kashi University at Bathinda. The plant material comprised onion (Allium cepa L.) variety “N-53” which has been recommended by PAU, Ludhiana for cultivation in the state during rabi season. The field experiments were laid out in split plot design.

Studies on quality, grading, waxing, packaging and marketing of kinnow (citrus nobilis × citrus deliciosa)

Kinnow fruit grown in Punjab and is having maximum area of orchard in Punjab therefore it becomes necessary to study the impact of different maturity or harvesting stages on fruit quality and its marketing. Keeping this view studies was conducted at four different stages of fruit harvesting viz., 1st – 15th January, 16th – 31st January, 1st – 15th February, 16th – 28th February. The month of February is best for fruit quality and for fruit processing also.

Reversive effect of 6-shogaol protect against ethanol withdrawal induced anxiety like behavior in mice

Alcoholism is a widespread behavioral disorder with excessive consumption of alcohol, resulting in alcohol dependence with aversive symptoms upon alcohol withdrawal. Depending on various modulating factors such as genetic predisposition, provocative environmental experiences, social context, pharmacological history and others alcohol consumption can become compulsive, and finally an addictive behavior might evolve.

Effect of organic and bio-fertilizers on germination of papaya (carica papaya l.)

The present investigation entitled “Effect of Organic and Bio-fertilizers on germination of papaya (Carica papaya L.) cvs. Red Lady and Pusa Dwarf” was conducted at Agriculture Research farm, Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, Punjab, India during 2021-2022.The experiment was carried out for the period during Rabi-Kharif season between February 2022 to April 2022. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design comprising of 13 treatment combinations replicated 3 times which consisted of papaya cultivars namely Red Lady and Pusa Dwarf.
