Introduction: Vision plays a very important role in child learning and development, thus, any problem with child’s vision could adversely affect his/her academic performance. This study therefore aims at determining the relationship between visual impairment and academic performance among primary school children within Sokoto metropolis. Materials and Method: A descriptive cross sectional survey of primary school children in four randomly selected primary schools within Sokoto metropolis was carried out between July 2016 and August 2016.

Background: The calf muscles pump is the primary mechanism to return blood from the lower limbs to the heart. During exercise, the calf muscles (gastrocnemius and soleus) contract and compress the intramuscular and deep veins. Calf muscles pump efficacy is dependent on the power of the moving ankle joint and flexibility of these muscles. Presence of gastrosoleus tightness may affect, alter the efficiency of this muscle in venous return thereby influencing heart rate. So this study aims to evaluate effect of gastrosoleus stretching on heart rate in normal individuals.

We address a recent case where the forest officials found suspected flesh of nearly 10 peafowls and quills, bones with tissue remains of porcupine. Apart from quills, flesh and tissue bone mixture could not be differentiated on the basis of physical paramaters. Applications of queuing theory enhance congestion assessment of in-patient facilities in hospitals and can improve significantly on the impact of quality healthcare as well as on patient satisfaction. This study examined the congestion situations which include the length of stay (LOS) for admissions and discharges of male and female in-patients at Psychiatric Unit of Specialist Hospital (PUSH), Yola. Data were obtained from a secondary source and analyzed with EasyFit software, IBM-SPSS, TORA and MS-Excel.

Introduction: The main purpose of the surgery of thyroid tumors is to cut the pathological portions of the gland, which at the same time carried an important part of the healthy parenchyma, the seat of possible recurrences. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of thyroidectomy performed at Bangui, identify the indications, and describe the surgical procedure and the post surgical complications.

The authors present one case of gall-bladder tumor diagnosed after laparotomy. The pathology analysis has given the diagnosis of gall-bladder primitive carcinoma. For this case, according to literature review, the authors present the diagnostic and therapeutic problems.so that they recommend the treatment of any diagnosed cholelithiasis as prophylaxis of gall-bladder carcinoma.

We are presenting a case of fourth Gravida with history of previous three spontaneous late first trimester miscarriages. She was diagnosed with protein S Deficiency in non-pregnant state after screening for thrombophilia. The prophylactic therapy with low molecular weight heparin along with Aspirin was introduced from the 6th week of gestation after fetal cardiac activity was appreciated on ultrasound & continued for whole of the gestation. She underwent planned caesarean section at 38 weeks of gestation resulting in the delivery of a healthy male new born of 2.6 kg body weight.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate effect of 2 different pre-treatment procedures before silanization on the fracture resistance of parapost fiber white system. Methods and Materials: Root canal treatment was performed on thirty human single rooted premolars. Post space was prepared and samples were divided into three groups of 10 each according to different treatment viz: Group-I Negative control, Group-II37% phosphoric acid+Silane and Group-III 7th generation bonding agent (Xeno V) +Silane.

The non-compact myocardium also called "spongy left ventricle" is a rare cardiomyopathy characterized by excessive and prominent trabeculations associated with intertrabecular recesses communicated with the ventricular cavity. Since its real prevalence is still imprecise, the most frequent clinical manifestations range from ventricular arrhythmias, thromboembolism to heart failure; echocardiography has remained the traditional diagnostic tool, but magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is increasingly used.

Male of 36 years of age, when being in a sports activity, suffers fall of his support plane with support on his right ankle in investment and forced varus, WITH bone deformity in the lateral region of the ankle, with inability for the mobility arcs. In the emergency department, a right deformity with varus deformity was observed, with significant edema of the lateral region of the ankle, with incapacity for mobility, without distal neurovascular compromise. X-rays are requested and a lateral closed dislocation of the talus is observed, with integrity of both malleoli.
