The Lambani community, one of India's largest traditional, nomadic, and de-notified tribes, is known by various names such as Bhanjara, Lamani, Sugalis, Lambada, Gypsies, and Gourmatti. Historically identified as a nomadic tribe, migration has been a primary means of livelihood for the Lambanis. Vijayapur District in Karnataka hosts the highest population of Lambanis in the state. This study aims to investigate the causes of school dropouts among Lambani students at the primary level, a critical issue that continues to challenge both advanced and developing nations. The dropout phenomenon affects societal prosperity and advancement, as uneducated and low-qualified personnel can significantly impede state functionality and development. The research seeks to assess the various factors contributing to dropouts among Lambani students, including ineffective curricula, stringent school discipline, inadequate physical and educational facilities, lack of parental support, poor socioeconomic conditions, domestic issues, parental illiteracy, unfavorable school environments, poor attendance, student behavior issues, lack of motivation, teacher discrimination, and frequent teacher absenteeism. The study highlights that dropout rates increase as students progress to higher grades, with primary-level dropout rates at 0.38% in Vijayapura's government schools, escalating to 23.68% at the upper primary level and 43.3% at the secondary level. Notably, girls have slightly higher dropout rates than boys, especially at the secondary level, where dropout rates are 43.9% for girls and 42.67% for boys. This study underscores the urgency of addressing the dropout issue among Lambani pupils in Vijayapur District, with the aim of developing effective interventions to improve retention rates and support the educational advancement of this marginalized community.

    ABSTRACT:

The study highlights the concept of coalition government and its impact in Indian government and politics of parliamentary democracy. It also reveals the reasons and circumstances in which coalition governments in India have become regular feature both at federal level as well as in the states. Furthermore, the study explores the nature, character and dominance of Indian National Congress (INC) and its replacement by non-Congress coalitions both at centre and in the states. It highlights brief working of minority coalitions at federal level which no doubt proved short-lived and instable, however opened a new coalition chapter in Indian political history. However, Indian politics experienced durable, mature and stable coalitions in the form of National Democratic Alliance-I and United Progressive Alliance-I at Union Level. Both these coalition governments though experienced tough political weather but successfully steered the coalition wagon to a predetermined destination. The study concludes that those coalition governments survive without any hiccups which followed a path of compromise, consensus and cooperation in place of strict ideological adherence of coalition partners.

    ABSTRACT:

Education is a fundamental pillar of any nation's progress and development. In a diverse and populous country like India, crafting effective educational policies becomes an imperative task to ensure equitable access to quality education for all citizens. Over the years, India has witnessed the formulation and implementation of several National Education Policies (NEPs), each designed to address the evolving needs, challenges, and aspirations of the society. With India's hard-fought independence in 1947, the country embarked on a journey of rebuilding and rejuvenating its socio-economic and cultural landscape. Education emerged as a central tool in this process of nation building. Visionaries like Jawaharlal Nehru recognized that a well-educated citizenry was critical for the growth of a democratic, self-reliant, and progressive nation. Post-independence, various policy initiatives aimed to redefine education in India. The establishment of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1953, for instance, marked a step towards regulating and coordinating higher education. However, it was the National Education Policy of 1968 that laid the foundation for a comprehensive framework for educational development. In the intricate tapestry of a nation's development, education emerges as a warp and weft, intertwining the aspirations of generations with the fabric of progress. National Education Policies (NEPs) stand as monumental signposts in this journey, guiding the course of education and shaping the intellectual landscape of a nation. NEP encapsulate the collective vision and aspirations of a society, providing a roadmap for educational growth and transformation. By outlining strategic goals, objectives, and actionable measures, ensure that the educational journey is purposeful and aligned with the nation's developmental goals and are meticulously crafted frameworks that encompass every facet of education, from early childhood learning to higher education and beyond. The present study addressing curriculum design, teacher training, infrastructure development, pedagogical approaches, and inclusion policies, in which NEPs create a holistic environment where 21st century education can flourish.

    ABSTRACT:

The review article on interventions mostly used for in-service training of nurses on effective use of standardized documents was conceived because most often than not documentation on patients is incomplete. The write up is relevant in that nurses can be exposed to standardized documents and use them for better patient outcomes. The objectives were to explore, outline, describe, and expose reasons for documentation, standardized documents, factors that influence effectiveness in documentation and regulatory bodies’ views on documentation. Sourced information was gotten from internet, websites, textbooks, and journals. Results show that the reasons for nursing documentation are to ensure vital record of patient care, support communication among the healthcare team, enhance care coordination and provide crucial data for legal, educational, and research purposes. Nursing documentation plays a key role in patient safety, quality improvement, informs decision-making, and ensures that healthcare providers maintain continuity of care, communicate patient assessments and track interventions accurately. Standardized documents should include admission sheets, progress notes, and medication administration records (MAR), which ensures accurate and consistent patient information. Proper training on these documents, along with critical incident reporting and workload measurement enhances care coordination, reduces errors, and supports effective resource management. It was revealed that the factors influencing nurses’ documentation in practice could be shortage of nurses, high volume of paperwork, literacy and documentation skills, and the fact that documentation narrow focus on physical health care. The view point of the regulatory bodies concerning documentation center onaccurate, standardized nursing documentation to ensure patient safety, compliance, accountability, and quality care across healthcare systems. This information can be relevant in organizing seminars to update in-service nurses on nursing documentation for better patient outcomes.

    ABSTRACT:

    ABSTRACT:

Cordycepin is a bioactive compound with extensive pharmacological activities and potential medical applications. This study focuses on the optimization of cordycepin production in an engineered Pichia pastoris strain, THP-292, constructed in our laboratory. By screening optimal culture media and supplementing with adenine and fucoidan, we aimed to improve cordycepin synthesis and enhance stress tolerance. The results showed that the BSM medium supported better growth and higher cordycepin production compared to other media, while offering simpler composition and easier downstream processing. The addition of fucoidan significantly increased cell viability during the later fermentation stages, improving stress resistance. Meanwhile, adenine supplementation doubled the cordycepin yield. This provides new insights into enhancing cordycepin synthesis in P. pastoris and understanding cellular adaptations to various environmental conditions.

    ABSTRACT:

Ascertaining the effectiveness of learning management systems (LMSs)is of great importance for managers and policy makers in institutions of higher education to make investment decisions basing on evidence rather than rhetorical claims about the advantage of ICT. However, the effectiveness of ICT tools in teaching and learning has remained unclear with studies giving inconsistent findings. In this paper, we base on the De Lone and McLean’s (2003) information systems success model as our lens to propose a study on effectiveness of Makerere University E-Learning Environment (MUELE) as a specific ICT tool used in teaching and learning. We hence, propose six interdependent variables as measures of effectiveness of MUELE, namely, net benefits of MUELE, use of MUELE, user satisfaction with MUELE, quality of information uploaded on MUELE, quality of performance of MUELE and quality of technical support received by a user of MUELE. Weposit that the overall dependent variable are the net benefits of MUELE while both use of MUELE and user satisfaction with MUELE are intermediate variables. We also posit that quality of information uploaded on MUELE, quality of performance of MUELE and quality of technical support received by a user of MUELE are the dependent variables. In this paper we give an introduction to our proposed study, statement of the problem, our study objectives and significance, theoretical review, related literature, the hypotheses and methodology of our proposed study.
