    ABSTRACT:

Concisely describe the aims of study, methodology, short- and long-term objective and the significance of the study to health problems in Saudi Arabia. The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is a vital part of the any healthcare system. They are the first responders to any, and all emergency situations. Being charged with the vital task of initial assessment of the patient at the scene, they have to overcome the obstacles of safe and fast transport to the appropriate medical facility, and initiation of life saving measures to provide the patient of the highest possible standard of care. Protocols and guidelines have been developed all over the world to provide a working template for the paramedics exposed to cases in the field. In this study, we are hoping to investigate how closely our EMS providers are adhering to the set protocols, and how their adherence, or lack thereof impacting on the patient presenting to the emergency department in critical condition. In completing this study, we hope to uncover any shortcomings that we may find in the existing EMS system that are potentially correctable, and in doing so propose a solution to improve on the current service, be it through the provision of better or missing equipment or improving on the training level of our paramedics in service, to raise the standard of care to its maximum. We are not looking for blame, we are only looking for avenues of improvement.

    ABSTRACT:

A calendar is a collection of days and dates humans use to guide their daily activities. The Ethiopian calendar system is significant in the socio-cultural lives of the Ethiopian people, who aspire to live peaceful lives. They believe the universe will be harmonious when people can coexist peacefully with God, one another, and the universe in a balanced way. With a comparison to the calendar system of another nation, this article seeks to establish the accuracy of the calculations performed with the Ethiopian calendar. The ancient astronomers definitively established the Ethiopian calendar in this investigation. Every four years is an extra day for Luka. Pagume only has six hours. The upshot is that there are now 366 days instead of 365 in a year. Leap years are the term for these years. Furthermore, the year will have 367 days in total after 600 years. The Ethiopian calendar system is vital to the social and cultural life of the Ethiopian population. It serves as a guide for duties such as keeping track of one's birthday, forecasting personality features, figuring out one's past, or analyzing the highs and lows of performing one's job. Furthermore, the findings showed that the new year, Meskerem 1 (September 11, 2043, G.C.), will start on Thursday in 2035 according to the Ethiopian calendar.

    ABSTRACT:

Background: There are known marginalized groups in Zambia when it comes to sexual and reproductive health. These groups are, adolescents, women and girls seeking abortion, the LGBTQI community, sex workers, prisoners and persons living with disabilities. For health inequality and inequity to be achieved in Zambia, this issue must be addressed. Objectives: The aim of this review is to investigate the sexual and reproductive health accessibility among the marginalized groups in Zambia and to give recommendations of the gaps identified. This will be done by achieving two objectives. Firstly, how well the health system of Zambia has used the sexual and reproductive health approach to ensure of the access to reproductive health services among the marginalized groups will be investigated. Secondly, we will analyse the political and socio-cultural contexts of Zambia as determinants of the accessibility of reproductive health services among these marginalized groups. Conclusion: Accessibility among the marginalized groups is still far below expectations and hence the creation of strategies is recommended. Strategies such as the creation of new laws, interventions and education programmes are recommended. Collaboration with corresponding partners such as the marginalized groups themselves, the ministry of health of Zambia, United Nations related organizations and sister bodies, both international and local civil society groups and human rights commissions is recommended to ensure that the strategies proposed are implemented within the time frames stipulated in this review.

    ABSTRACT:

The aim of this review is to explore the factors contributing to poor maternal mental health that is prevalent in China and to evaluate what has been done so far, as areas for improvement will be deduced so that recommendations can be given. Some of the factors influencing maternal anxiety in China are: lack of access to appropriate counselling centres, preference for the male child, marital tensions and the low status of women in the Chinese society. Another major factor is the mother in-law versus daughter in-law conflicts which also directly influences antenatal anxiety. The government of China has responded by enacting policies to safeguard the rights of pregnant women and to develop interventions that will improve on their maternal health services with heavy emphasis on mental health services. Further responses include, the capacity building of mental health workers, health promotion, the integration of mental health in Maternal and Child Health and the successful attempts in reducing the gaps in equity. To further improve on these successes, community participation and the expansion of coverage and access of antenatal care services have been recommended.

    ABSTRACT:

Rural sustainability is a social construction that calls for deliberate considerations, inquiries and concerns. The advocacy role of the mass media in the furtherance of the strategies intended for the durable solutions to emergent issues in the rural areas cannot be undermined; on these grounds, this study addresses the position of cartoon journalism in the advancement of the rural sustainability strategies in Nigeria. The study defines the pattern and practice of cartoon journalism in Nigeria, it relates the bases for the attainment of rural sustainability and considers the advocacy position of cartoon journalism in the advancement of sustainability measures in the outlying areas. The agenda setting theory as well as the development media theory are adopted in the study to establish a workable theoretical framework and the case study research method which permits the consideration of many, related elements for the purpose of comprehension was employed. From the study, it is culled that for cartooned elements to play their role successfully in helping to propagate and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in rural regions, they must be intentional, directional, persuasive, and creatively woven around strings of strategic messages.

    ABSTRACT:

The objective of the present study was to assess the functional mobility of male and female elderly subjects residing in high-altitude regions of India. The study was performed on 300 elderly males and 300 elderly females between the age range of 60 to 70 years residing in Tehri, Uttarakhand. The selected elderly subjects were chosen purposively and none have any history of serious medical illness. To assess the problems of functional mobility of the selected subjects, a pre-validated functional mobility scale was developed. The reliability and validity of this scale were established through valid statistical measures. The items in this scale addressed the problem of lying to sitting, sitting to lying, sitting to standing, standing, gait, timed walk and functional reach. Scores above 13 show that the subject has no problems related to functional mobility, scores between 10-13 denote mild functional mobility problems, scores between 6-9 denote moderate functional mobility problems and scores below 6 denote severe functional mobility problems. Functional mobility in 21.4% of elderly subjects was found to be severely compromised. The results also showed that the problems of functional mobility are almost the same in both groups that have elderly males and elderly females. It was concluded that the problems of functional mobility in the majority of elderly males and females are not severe.

    ABSTRACT:

Background: Educational school facilities are indispensable in the teaching and learning process because they enhance understanding, application and retention of knowledge. Despite the importance of these educational facilities in increasing the performance of students, studies assessing their utilization are scarce. Objectives: The objective of the study was to assess the utilization of educational school facilities among students of a Nursing training institution in South East Nigeria. Methods: The study was a cross sectional, descriptive, non-experimental, questionnaire based study. A stratified sampling technique was used to select 130 students from first, second and third year who participated in the study. Results: There was poor utilization of the demonstration room partly due to the poor equipment of the laboratory and the school policy of insisting that the student replaces any damaged item. There was poor utilization of the computer laboratory for learning mostly due to the non-availability of internet services. Conclusion: We recommend that government and Non-Governmental agencies join hands in re-equipping the educational facilities and provide the needed manpower so as to make the facilities suitable and conducive for students.

    ABSTRACT:

Background: In the challenging realm of health-science education, a rigorous curriculum, combined with the expectations to thrive in a fiercely competitive environment, affects students' academic performance, physical health, and psychological well-being. Objective(s): This paper embarks on an exploration of mental health within the University of Guyana; College of Medical Sciences, contextualizing it within a global landscape of stress, anxiety, and depression that afflicts aspiring healthcare professionals. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, the researchers investigated the correlation between student concerns and mental health. They utilized Google Forms to administer Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale questionnaires to 265 participants. The modified scale included 9 items rated on a five-point Likert scale, achieving a post-administration Cronbach alpha score of 0.854. Psychological distress was defined as scores below 26 out of 45. Chi-squared tests were employed to examine associations between worries and indicators of psychological distress, such as sleep disturbance and university studies. Additionally, Chi-squared tests were used to assess connections between students' requests for support and their mental well-being scale category. Statistical analyses were conducted with a 95% confidence interval and a significance level of p < 0.05, including odds ratios to explore relationships between reported sleep disturbance, worries, and daily living or university activities. Results: The chi-square tests revealed a significant correlation between students seeking support from academic staff and concerns about finances (X² = 9.085, df=1, p< 0.003), as well as between sleep disturbance and listed worries among students (X² = 20.647, df=1, p< 0.001). Students who worried about finances were found to be 2 times more likely to require support from academic staff compared to their counterparts (OR: 2.0944, CI: 1.2909 to 3.3983, z statistic: 2.994, Significance level P = 0.0028). Those reporting interference with daily living activities and university studies due to worries were 3 times more likely to experience sleep disturbance (OR: 3.0421, CI: 1.8699 to 4.9492, Z statistic: 4.481, Significance level P < 0.0001). Normality was confirmed through a Shapiro-Wilk test using the modified questionnaire (Test statistic W= 0.993, df: 289, p-value: 0.175). An independent sample t-test comparing mean scores on a Warwick-Edinburgh mental health well-being test showed a significant difference between those who worry about university studies and those who do not t (5.676), df= 287, p<0.001) with a large effect size (d=0.839). Conclusions: The research highlights the pressing necessity for specific interventions aimed at tackling psychological distress and easing concerns among students in health science.
