An effective facilitation of semantic to syntax development in children with autism spectrum disorder by using aac-case studies

A wide range of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices are used to meet the diverse needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) who have difficulty using natural speech to meet their daily communication needs. Need of the study: Most of the systems mainly focus on semantics and Research has shown evidence significant difficulties specifically in the area of syntactical structures. Aim of the study: To show the effective facilitation from semantics to syntactical structures development of children with ASD by using simple low technology Aided AAC. Methodology: A Three children from a special school who have features of typical ASD were taken and we worked on Aided AAC technique of real object matching, sight word reading and matching with their real objects and finally sight word paired with real objects and using these combinations in sentence making. Conclusion: We found that there is much more development in the syntactical structure and we would like to show the videos of these children.
